What is the GREAT FUTURES FUND?
The Great Futures Fund is a board restricted fund to ensure the future of the BGCML Clubhouse and its programs. To provide long-term a reliable and sustainable source of funding for the BGCML, ensuring they can continue their work even if other sources of income fluctuate or become unavailable.

How will the Great Futures Fund impact the overall success of BGCML?
• Service more Muskegon County youth: BGCML currently serves 484 kids in the summer and 250 during the school year from grades K-12 from 36 different schools.
• Youth Development: Focus on academics, character, leadership, and healthy lifestyles.
• Career Readiness: Develop the workforce as teens participate in workforce readiness programming to increase their confidence, build their resume, and secure jobs.
• Water Safety: Provide swimming lessons, kayak lessons, and sailing lessons for each member at no cost to them. Allow for future projects include leveraging the 5 acres on Muskegon Lake with full access to Muskegon Lake.
• Community Building: Provide a safe and successful community space offering programs from 6 months to 99+ years. Serve as a hub for future voting location, safety in the event of power outages, educational/ fun activities and much more.

What is the current operation budget of BGCML?
• To maintain current operations of BGCML at the Clubhouse, it takes $2 million annually.
• There are satellite BGCML locations, however the fund would be used specifically to support the Clubhouse.
• Past satellite programs were held at five Muskegon County schools but had to be canceled due to Federal grant budget cuts. BGCML still serve the youth from those areas by providing transportation from the school to the Clubhouse.

Current funding sources for BGCML
• 30% in donations
• 20% Neal Fitness Center (NFC) membership and rentals.
• 40% in state/local grants (some are pass-through from Federal Funding)
• 10% from Federal grants.
